MUMBAI (AFP) — Pop icon Madonna walked through narrow lanes in a slum and visited a flea market in India's financial capital during a holiday with her family.

Madonna, her film director husband Guy Ritchie and their three children arrived in Mumbai Tuesday morning by chartered plane from the historic city of Udaipur in western India, where they spent New Year's Eve.

Kollam, Thursday, 10 January: The Kerala State School Art Festival will begin just a while from now when Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan will inaugurate the gala event at 4 p.m. on today evening. Education Minister M.A. Baby will preside the event. The Government Model Boys’ High Secondary School is the main venue, this will be the last State-level schools arts festival in its present form.
