Mohanlal plays the title role of Ali Bhai, a trade union leader who controls the famous Valiyangaady market in Kozhikode. He is the descendent of Baramy who came from Yemen, centuries ago, to do business in Kerala. Mohanlal came to this set after enacting advocate Sivaraman in Hello.

Gopika and Navya Nair are the two heroines of the film. Gopika is acting with the superstar for the first time. Though they have worked together in the movie Keerthichakra, she was not his heroine in the film.

Other casts include Cochin Haneefa, Jagadhish, Vijaya Kumar, Shammi Thilakan, Suraj Venjaramood, Sudheesh, KPAC Lalitha, Master Ganapathy and many others.

Ganapathy and Gopika play Shamna Kingini and Ganga, both protected by Ali Bhai. KPAC Lalitha runs a canteen in the market. Navya enacts Chenthamara, who sells flowers.

Music is composed by Alex Paul. The film is distributed by Central pictures and will be an Onam release.
