Producers for talks if MACTA came without any pre-condition

Kerala Film Producers Association said they are prepared for a discussion to sort out the row with Malayalam Cine Technicians Association(MACTA) Federation, if MACTA comes forward without any pre-condition.

Speaking to reporters after an emergency meeting of the Association, its president Milind Jaleel said it was decided that any future talks with MACTA should be made only after they come forward without any pre-condition.

The General Body of the MACTA Federation had yesterday decided to go for an indefinite strike from yesterday itself and as a result all the production, editing, dubbing and post production work has been suspended indefinitely.

Jaleel said the claim of MACTA that some producers had expressed willingness to cooperate with the federation was a 'false propaganda'.

All the producers of the 14 films under production, except one, were present at the press conference.

The meeting also decided that the losses incurred by the producers as a result of MACTA strike, will be recovered from those responsible for the losses, he said.

Jaleel said permission will not be granted to MACTA or to any individual, who produces films without getting permission from producers association.

MACTA Federation had said that it would produce a film next month.

About 1500 workers in the film industry have been pushed to near starvation as a result of MACTA Federation's strike, he alleged.
