Govt warns action against officials aiding land-grabbers

Kerala Forest minister Binoy Viswam said that the state government will take action against officials who aided the encroachment of government lands at Munnar in Idukki District.

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a function here, Viswam said that the government will not succumb to political pressures. The Left Democratic Front government will evict the encroachers whoever it may be, he said.

Viswam said action will be taken against officials found aiding the land-grabbers.

People are the owners of the Government and not the political parties, he said.

Government will not succumb to money, political influence or might, he said.

Though LDF was for development, it should not be made by destroying the enviornment, he said.

He said as per the reports received by the government during the last two years no encroachment of land was reported from Pooyamkutty area. However, more enquiries are being conducted in this regard.
