CID Moosa 007, the animated version of Dileep's CID Moosa (2003) directed by Johnny Antony, has created a new controversy. Actor Dileep has filed a petition in the court against its director Binu Sasidharan for violating copyrights act, accusing that CID Moosa 007 was produced without his permission.

Malayalees have proved that it is not just Dumb and Dymber or Mr Bean which can be made into animation series but also our own films.

CID Moosa in which Dilip and his faithful canine companion had everyone rolling on the floor with laughter will soon be made into an animation series. Each of the 8 serials made so far will be 30 minutes long.

As with thier western counterparts, the storyline will be different though the characters will all be the same. Another outcome of such a venture is that Dilip and co. will be immortalised in 2D, as the series is likely to survive long after the movie is forgotten.

The court had deferred the hearing of the case to next week. However, Binu Sasidharan said that the movie was made only after getting permission from Dileep.

CID Moosa 007, produced under the banner of FX3 and Wireframe productions, was released last month in Kochi and it is the first time an Indian film has been made into an animated film.
