A total of 90.2 percent of students who appeared for the SSLC examination became eligible for higher studies in Kollam educational district. Of the 34210 students who appeared for the examination, 30868 came out successful. Of the 17193 boys who appeared for the exam, 15160 passed. 15708 of the 17017 girls also have passed the examination.
A total of 509 students in the district secured A plus in all subjects. In the Kottarakkara education district, 68 boys and 118 girls secured A plus in all subjects. In the Punalur educational district, 27 boys and 57 girls secured A plus in all subjects. 63 boys and 179 girls secured A plus in all subjects in Kollam educational district.
A total of 25 schools in the district secured 100 percent success. Of this, eight Government schools secured 100 percent pass in the examination. 43 schools secured over 95 percent success in the district.
Vimalahridaya Girls Higher Secondary School had the presitigious achievement of the school from which the highest number of students appeared for the exam. Of the 819 students who appeared for the exam from here, 810 have become eligible for higher studies. St. Jude High School, Mukhathala, secured 100 percent success for 375 students appeared for the examination.
Government Boys VHS, Thevally, became the government school to secure 100 percent success for highest number of students. Here, 110 students became eligible for higher studies. In 20 schools, over 300 students secured eligibility for higher studies.
Out of the 11 schools, where special attention was given in view of the bad performance in the past, five schools came out in flying colors by securing 100 percent success. Model Residential School, Kulathupuzha, secured 100 percent success. In five other schools, over 95 percent students became eligible for higher studies.
