The English and Foreign Languages (EFL) University, Hyderabad, a Central university, has invited applications for entrance tests for admission to various courses. The Hyderabad campus offers five-year integrated MA courses in English and mass communication and journalism. Eligibility for admission is pass in Plus Two or equivalent examinations.

There are also MA courses in English (TESL), media and communication, linguistics, English literature, and literature and cultural studies.

A postgraduate diploma course in teaching of English is offered.

There are M.Phil. courses in English language education, English literature, linguistics and phonetics; Ph.D. in English language education, English literature, linguistics and phonetics; and a B.Ed. English self-financing course.

There are five-year integrated MA courses in Arabic, French, German, Russian and Spanish and the regular MA courses in Arabic and French. A postgraduate diploma course in teaching of Arabic is offered. M.Phil. courses are there in Arabic, French, German and Russian. Ph.D. can be done in these languages.
A six-semester M.Phil course and Ph.D. is offered in distance-education mode in Russian. A one-year intensive advance diploma in Russian is offered.

The Lucknow campus offers five-year integrated and regular MA English courses; postgraduate diploma in the teaching of English; and M.Phil. and Ph.D. in English (linguistics and phonetics).

The Northeast campus at Shillong offers a certificate course in German; diploma course in mass communication; five-year integrated MA English course; postgraduate diploma course in teaching of English; and Ph.D. in English literature.

The entrance tests will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on June 15. Interviews will be held from July 7 to 30.

The filled applications should be submitted along with a demand for Rs. 500 (Rs. 250 for candidates from the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes and those who are physically or visually challenged) drawn in favour of the Registrar, EFL University, payable at Hyderabad.

The last date for the receipt of applications is May 20.
