Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry entrance
The Veterinary Council of India has invited applications for the All-India Pre-Veterinary Test for admission to the 15 per cent merit seats for Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry (B.V.Sc. & A.H) course in various veterinary colleges in the country for the academic year 2009-10.
Duration of the course is five years, including six months compulsory internship.
The test will be held across the country from 2 pm to 5 pm on May 9, 2009.
Eligibility
Indian citizens, who have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with physics, chemistry, biology and English, with at least 50 per cent marks in aggregate and separate pass in each subject, are eligible to apply.
Candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes require only 40 per cent marks in the qualifying examination.
Those appearing for the final qualifying examination this academic year are also eligible to apply.
Age
Applicants should have completed 17 years as on December 31, 2009.
Application forms and information bulletin will be distributed from January 9 to February 18, 2009 through the select branches of Vijaya Bank on payment of Rs.800 (Rs.400 for candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes).
In the South, Vijaya Bank branches at Thiruvananthapuram (Swasthik Centre, M.G. Road) and Bangalore (Mayohall, M.G. Road) will distribute the application forms.
For getting application forms by post, one should send a request along with a demand draft for Rs.850 (Rs.450 for candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes) drawn on any Scheduled bank in favour of the Veterinary Council of India Examination Fund payable at New Delhi to the Office of the Controller of Examination, Veterinary Council of India, A-Wing, 2nd Floor, Augustcranthi Bhavan, Bhikaji Kama Place, New Delhi - 110 066. Two self-addressed slips should also be sent along with he requisition letter.
Online application facilities are also provided from January 9 to February 18, 2009 up to 5 p.m. on the web site www.vci-india.in.
