I Write Sins Not Tragedies by the rock band Panic at the Disco - Music Video

I Write Sins Not Tragedies is the second single by the rock band Panic at the Disco, from the album A Fever You Can't Sweat Out. It was released on April 27, 2006 on both compact disc and 7 inch vinyl. The song was written by Ryan Ross. Brendon Urie had once said that he thought the song was being overplayed and "There were more songs on the record than just this one." The song reached #7 on the United States Billboard Hot 100 and rose to #25 on the UK Singles Chart. It is arguably the most popular emo song of all time.

The video starts as the bride and groom are about to be married. After an argument over the groom's active circus family, the bride runs out, and is followed by one of her guests. The ringmaster of the circus performers, played by singer Brendon Urie, leads the man outside, where his fiancée and the guest who pursued her out of the church are kissing. The groom undoes his tie, looking shocked, and Urie and the groom bow to the camera, and the ringmaster is revealed to be the groom's alter ego, the part of him that never left the circus.

One of the interesting things about the video is Urie is never seen saying "God damn". There are three double "God damn" in the lyrics. For two the shot is not on him. For another two, he does a cross over his mouth. And the other he covers his mouth entirely. Also, it seems that the makeup of the ringmaster and the groom, combined with the top hat, was inspired by the movie A Clockwork Orange.

The music video by director Shane Drake won "Video of the Year" during the 2006 Video Music Awards. This marked the first occasion since the 1989 VMAs that the winner of Video of the Year did not win anything else (with Neil Young's "This Note's For You" winning the award). The video was also ranked #7 on VH1's list of the Top 100 Videos of 2006.

I Write Sins Not Tragedies lyrics

Oh, well imagine; as I'm pacing the pews in a church corridor,
and I can't help but to hear, no I can't help but to hear an exchanging of words.
"What a beautiful wedding!, What a beautiful wedding!" says a bridesmaid to a waiter.
"Oh yes, but what a shame, what a shame, the poor groom's bride is a whore."

Well, I'd chime in with a "Haven't you people ever heard of closing the god damn door?!"
No, it's much better to face these kinds of things with a sense of poise and rationality.
I'd chime in "Haven't you people ever heard of closing the god damn door?!"
No, it's much better to face these kinds of things with a sense of.....

Oh, well in fact, well I'll look at it this way, I mean technically our marriage is saved
Well this calls for, a toast so, pour the champagne,
Oh! Well in fact, well I'll look at it this way,
Ethnic Indians produce Malaysia's first Bhangra album

Two ethnic Indian Sikhs have entered record books in this multi-ethnic country, by producing the first Malaysian local Bhangra album. Manjit Singh Gill and Sukhjit Singh Gill, popularly known as Goldkartz, have written and produced their first Bhangra album called 'Loaded', which has a mix of hip hop, rap, R&B, reggae, house and trance music.

The album, with songs in English, Punjabi, Tamil and Malay lyrics has sold more than 2,000 copies since its release last January and has made it into the 'Malaysia Book of Records'.

"Usually Bhangra songs are produced in the United Kingdom and India, but we tried to make something different by writing the lyrics, recording the songs, arranging, mastering and mixing the songs ourselves here," Manjit, 23, known as M-Ji, was quoted as saying by the local media.

Sukhjit, also known as Surj, said the album represented the multi-ethnic Malaysia by borrowing from a number of languages and cultures.

"Loaded brings a new dimension in the Bhangra music industry by using English, Malay, Tamil and, of course, Punjabi lyrics to represent the society of Malaysia," said the 19-year-old.

Malaysia, a Muslim majority country with 60 per cent Malays, has a mix of 25 per cent ethnic Chinese and 7.8 per cent ethnic Indians in its population of 27 million people.

The brothers, who have received recognition under the Arts and Entertainment category for the album, have plans to market it in UK and India.

Delhi's first fusion band's maiden album

Here is a good news for music lovers -- Delhi's fusion band 'Advaita' is all set to roll out its first album in the market. The band men have finished recording at the Yash Raj studios in Mumbai. They are busy in planning brand promotion and market strategy for the album.

"We have recorded 10 songs for our albums successfully. It was indeed an experience of life time. The album truly depict our distinct 'fusion' of music," says Abhishek Mathur, guitarist in the band.

It will take three months for our album to hit market. As there are some post-recording and branding related jobs are in their final phase, he says.

Advaita -- meaning Non-duality -- an eclectic music group from New Delhi was formed in 2004 that has given number of performances in and out of the city.

The important part before releasing an album is of recording. The sell of album depends a lot on it. We are happy to have carried out that part quite successfully, says Abhishek.

"We play both classical and western ragas. But its the fusion - a perfect blend of eastern and western music - that will reflect uniqueness of band through our album," he says.

The band members are undecided on the name to be given to the album and plan to take experts' help in doing so.

"Branding and selling is what we are discussing with industry experts. It is not our cup of tea. We are musicians and love to play that. We will soon announce the name of our album," Abhishek says.

Advaita band members are in the age - group of 17-25 years.
