Beauty And The Beast is widely considered the best animated Disney feature of the studio's 1980s/1990s renewal of the form. Based on the classic French fairy tale, it tells the story of Belle, an intelligent young woman scorned by her townspeople for being a bookworm, weary of fighting off the advances of the arrogant Gaston (Richard White), and dreaming of escape.

When her father gets lost in the woods and captured by the forbidding Beast, a once-handsome prince turned into a monster by a witch, Belle goes off to rescue him. Taken with her, the Beast agrees to release Belle's father if she agrees to stay with him forever.

Initially repulsed, Belle soon finds much to appreciate in the Beast's hidden tender nature. The Beast's servants -- a clock, a teapot, and a candlestick - see Belle as their salvation: if the Beast and a woman fall in love before his 21st birthday, he will be free from the curse.

The songs are first-class, the tale is told with sincerity but not sentimentality, and the characters of Belle and the Beast, complex individuals who defy stereotyping and change over the course of the story, are more three-dimensional than in most live-action movies. The eye-popping animation is beautifully rendered, and Beauty And The Beast certainly deserves its place amongst Disney's animated classics.

Kung Fu Panda is an animated film about a panda who learns martial arts and then uses this new ability to fight his enemies. Kung Fu Panda is being directed by John Stevenson and Mark Osborne and produced by Melissa Cobb. The idea for the film was conceived by Michael Lachance, a DreamWorks Animation executive. The film is due for release on June 6, 2008. It will be distributed by Paramount Pictures.

The film stars the voices of, among others, Jack Black, Seth Rogen, David Cross, Jackie Chan, Dustin Hoffman, Angelina Jolie and Lucy Liu.

Po (Jack Black) is a panda who is an apprentice noodle-maker and kung fu fanatic, but whose defining characteristic appears to be that he is the laziest animal in ancient China. Evil warrior Tai Lung (Ian McShane) has escaped from prison, and all hopes have been pinned on a prophecy naming Po as the "Chosen One" to save the day. He has a kung fu master, Shifu (Dustin Hoffman) who "has trained five of the greatest warriors that the world has ever known", to help him.

Notably, all the original disciples of the main masters are animal stances or styles commonly used in the art of kung fu - Tigress (Tiger), Monkey, Viper, Crane and Mantis. Shen Lung Kung Fu uses those animals as a base for the whole system.

CID Moosa 007, the animated version of Dileep's CID Moosa (2003) directed by Johnny Antony, has created a new controversy. Actor Dileep has filed a petition in the court against its director Binu Sasidharan for violating copyrights act, accusing that CID Moosa 007 was produced without his permission.

Malayalees have proved that it is not just Dumb and Dymber or Mr Bean which can be made into animation series but also our own films.

CID Moosa in which Dilip and his faithful canine companion had everyone rolling on the floor with laughter will soon be made into an animation series. Each of the 8 serials made so far will be 30 minutes long.

As with thier western counterparts, the storyline will be different though the characters will all be the same. Another outcome of such a venture is that Dilip and co. will be immortalised in 2D, as the series is likely to survive long after the movie is forgotten.

The court had deferred the hearing of the case to next week. However, Binu Sasidharan said that the movie was made only after getting permission from Dileep.

CID Moosa 007, produced under the banner of FX3 and Wireframe productions, was released last month in Kochi and it is the first time an Indian film has been made into an animated film.

Naruto battling a monster, only to be killed by it. The setting then returns to a few days previous, where a man named Yomi (named after the Japanese word for "underworld") attacks a shrine to retrieve the spirit of Mouryou, a demon who attempted to take over the world and create his "Thousand Year Kingdom". Since he is lacking a body, Yomi offers his as a temporary substitute until they can retrieve Mouryou's original one.

The only threat to Mouryou's plan is a priestess named Shion, who has the ability to seal his spirit away once more. He raises a stone army from their slumber to attack the rest of the world while his four subordinates go to eliminate Shion. They are given special chakra creatures to enhance their strength.

To deal with the threat, Konohagakure sends out many advance teams to stall the stone army. Naruto Uzumaki, Sakura Haruno, Neji Hyuga and Rock Lee are sent to guard Shion and deliver her to the shrine where Mouryou's body is kept however this proves easier said then done with assassins coming after them, and Shion's bratty attitude doesn't help matters. They fend off Shion's four would-be assassins, who exhaust themselves in a failed attempt to kill Naruto. Shion tells Naruto of his upcoming death; while initially skeptical, her assistant Taruho explains that Shion can see the future, and all 100 predictions she has made have come true. As they head for the shrine, the group is ambushed once again and split into two teams. Lee kills one of his opponents, while Naruto is kept busy by his. Neji tells Sakura to escape with Shion, unaware that his two opponents are actually just one man and a puppet. Sakura is disabled by the remaining ninja and Shion is killed.

This turns out to be a ruse: the dead "Shion" is actually Taruho, who transformed himself into a copy of Shion to trick the enemies into thinking they killed the real Shion. Shion explains that her power works by allowing her spirit to jump back in time at the moment of her death, thereby allowing her to avoid it by having someone die in her place. Naruto insists that he will not die, and likewise will keep Shion safe.

Thanks to Lee, Neji realizes that the remaining three ninja must keep replenishing their chakra to battle effectively. Naruto is sent on ahead with Shion, while Sakura and Lee trick their opponents into wasting their chakra on futile attacks. When it comes time to replenish their chakra, Neji disables the final ninja who was providing it, leaving the other two powerless against Lee and Sakura.

At the mountain temple where Mouryou's body is kept, Naruto and Shion find the stone army waiting. Naruto holds the army back while Shion heads inside to begin the sealing ritual. Yomi is already inside, and tricks Shion into beginning the technique with him inside the barrier, allowing Mouryou's spirit to reunite with his body. With the stone army being destroyed by Kakashi, Shikamaru, and Temari, Naruto comes to rescue her. About to see her prediction of his death come true, she uses her power to change Naruto's fate, intending to kill herself and Mouryou to save him. Naruto stops her seconds before her death, and creates a Rasengan with her chakra to destroy Mouryou. With Mouryou gone, Naruto asks Shion what she intends to do now. She replies that Mouryou was a demon caused by the dark thoughts of men, and that there is bound to be another Mouryou someday. Because of this, she says that she must continue the line of priestesses that will suppress demons like Mouryou. It is assumed that Shion has fallen in love with Naruto, since she then asks him if he will help her (basically asking if he will father a child with her), much to the surprise and disdain of Sakura, Kakashi, and Lee. Naruto, true to form, ignorantly agrees.
