Nadukani

Approximately, 70km from Thodupuzha, enroute to Painavu, lies this picturesque spot. Surrounded by breath taking spectacles, Nadukani is an ideal place for one –day picnickers. True to its title is its offer of a panoramic view of a large area that you can experience only from a high mountain peak.

If you prefer to start your journey from Thodupuzha, care for the beautiful scenes outside, as your vehicle leaps through the hairpin bends. There are criss-crossing rivulets, thick plantations and vast natural forests.

On the sunny day Nadukani offers a clear view of the areas extending to Thodupuzha. The northern side is filled with blue hills vying to touch the sky. The picture of the Muvattupuzha river that snakes its way down, joined by various tributaries will remain in your memory for a long time. Nadukani has all the potentials required, to develop into a major hill station.

A two-storeyed pavilion, though bearing the burnt of tourist excesses, makes a safe place to enjoy the landscape. Compared to other beautiful spots in Idukki, Nadukani is easily accessible. There is a properly maintained road from the bus stop to the pavilion. Fogs at times will dampen your enthusiastic photographic spirts; wait till a friendly wind clears up the air.

Another place of attraction near here is the Moolamattom underground power station. Book an advance ticket to pay a visit here. Food and accommodation can be had at Thodupuzha.
